The madness begins

Outlaw - if I ever did an Ironman distance that would be the one: local, relatively flat and looks great fun (!). If they did a half Ironman/middle distance then I'd definitely be up for that...

Hmm - cue the announcement of the Outlaw Half (can you see where this is going?).

'NO! That is a stupid idea, it's 2 weeks before Windsor, what if you get injured. You can't run a half marathon and haven't cycled more than 30 miles' said my common sense.

'You've only got to get round, think of the achievement, it's the inaugural event' replied my devil.

Spurred on by me my husband was convinced to enter. He got in and then suggested since I'd be training with him I should also go for it.

Lunchtime came, I made sure I'd marked all my books, eaten my lunch and then logged on. Stories of the website crashing and it being fully booked reassured me. Oh oh - website accessed, places available. It's OK I told myself it will crash before I go to pay. Then one click and bugger - 'Im in!'

So here I am...
